Movies for 2010!

Post by Le Stud »

I still had The Food of the Gods in my Netflix queue from last year, but I guess it went out of print because it is no longer available.

Cody has already told me that he wants to watch Yor, the Hunter from the Future, but they never released a US DVD. So we might have to dig for that one as well.

I've never heard of Yor, but it looks intense. I think this will be worth breaking out the VCR for.

I'd like to make my official plea to consider Robot Jox as a background movie for Nerd Weekend '10. I won't pretend like this is a great film on the level of some past weekend features, but it at least deserves a screening in honor of its 20th anniversary.

I like the idea of Robot Jox, but I thought we were supposed to watch movies that didn't win BEST PICTURE?

So, Yor was never released on DVD, which I think Jesse may have mentioned somewhere. However, we can watch it on Amazon's On Demand thing for the low low price of... wait for it... $15 fucking dollars!!! What in god's name?! A $15 movie rental?! ... I guess it must be realy good.

Also, I have been dying to watch Bloodsport/Kickboxer/Cyborg. So, if any of you have any of these films, please bring them.

Thanks.

A magic torrent fairy might have just dropped off a widescreen rip of Yor.

Which is about time, because there was only like one fucking slow seed, so it took days!

Robot Jox should be in from Netflix on Saturday. I also hear that an old friend is bringing like thirty of his shittiest DVDs, so I don't think we will be short for movies this year.

I'm sure Colter has all the shitty J-CVD movies you can stomach, Cody. I'll watch Kickboxer or Bloodsport with you for old time's sake, but the only decent part of Cyborg is the crucifixion scene at the beginning. I say we skip straight to Universal Soldier or Timecop.

Have you ever seen Monaco Forever? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeKUA3Z8wd4
